We are looking for energetic and motivated casual Support Workers to help the people we support in their own homes in Palmerston North.

What does a Support Worker do? - He aha te mahi a te Kaimahi Tautoko?

This is a busy and diverse role, supporting people with various aspects of daily life and helping them do the things they want to do, such as personal cares, support with meals, household management tasks, and teaching life skills - the list is endless!

Support Workers are part of a team who work shifts or specific rosters providing 24/7 support, with the potential for additional sleepover payments included in some rosters.

  • People who are passionate about helping others, are kind and understanding
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience with disabilities and challenging behaviours
  • Full driver's licence is essential
  • Somebody who has the initiative to help people achieve their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box
  • Respectful of others' thinking and their way of living life that may be different to your own
  • Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends

Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are important in this role as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
