About the Role

The Emergency Department Administrator and Telephonist role plays a vital part in coordinating the smooth operation of our busy Emergency Department and Communication Hub. We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate people to join our team.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Emergency Department Clerical Team consists of 20 individuals, all dedicated to providing exceptional support to our staff, patients, and their families. We pride ourselves on delivering compassionate care in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

About you

As an ED Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of our Emergency Department, providing vital support to medical staff and ensuring that patients and families have a positive experience in a time of need.

As a Telephonist, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, families, medical staff, and internal emergency situations ensuring that calls are answered promptly and directed efficiently. This role is crucial in maintaining communication flow.

You will be trained across both positions so ideally we are looking for a team player with a friendly disposition who has strong organisational skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Ideally you will have:

Availability to work rostered rotating shifts, covering 24 hour operations across a 7 day week in 8 hour shifts.
Minimum of two years experience as a receptionist, telecommunication or similar administration role
Experience with all windows based applications
Strong communication skills and a professional phone manner
Maintain professional and courteous communication, especially in high-pressure situations

Ability to be flexible in a changing environment
