At Inframax Construction, we’re proud to be a Kiwi-owned company with strong local roots. We specialise in building and maintaining roading infrastructure that keeps rural and regional New Zealand moving safely. We’re a tight-knit, safety-focused team that values hard work, teamwork, and helping our people grow their careers.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a capable and motivated Quarry Supervisor to join our experienced team and play a key role in leading daily quarrying and crushing operations.

Job Description

Based from our Te Kuiti depot you’ll travel to various Inframax quarries situated through the Waitomo region. Reporting to the Quarry Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day quarry and mobile crushing operations, ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with environmental and quality standards.

This is a hands-on leadership position where you’ll both coordinate your team and operate machinery when required. You’ll lead by example, promote a strong safety culture, and drive continuous improvement in performance, productivity, and compliance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and support daily quarry and crushing operations to meet production targets.
  • Supervise and develop the team, operating equipment as required.
  • Ensure all work meets safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Manage resources, materials, and equipment for efficient production.
  • Monitor performance, report on outcomes, and drive continuous improvement.

You’re an experienced quarry professional with strong operational knowledge and proven leadership skills. You enjoy taking a proactive, hands-on approach, and you take pride in maintaining safe, efficient, and compliant operations. To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

  • B Grade Quarry Manager COC (required) with 2+ years supervisory experience in quarrying or heavy industry.
  • Proven experience operating crushing and screening equipment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Skilled in planning, reporting, and resource management.
  • Solid knowledge of quarry operations, machinery, maintenance, and HSE legislation.
  • Computer literate for reporting and record-keeping.

If you’re safety-focused, operationally minded, and ready to step into a leadership role that balances people, production, and performance — this could be the ideal next step.
