Automotive Electrician - Christchurch

Employment Type: Full-time (Minimum 32 hours per week)

Youbest Ltd is currently seeking an Automotive Electrician to join our team based in Canterbury.

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic systems in a wide range of vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic faults using diagnostic tools.
• Replace faulty components in systems such as ignition, charging, starting, and lighting.
• Repair and install electrical parts including engine-management systems, air-conditioning systems, ABS brakes, electronically controlled gearboxes, instrument panels and vehicle computers.
• Install and configure security, entertainment, and power-operated systems.
• Reprogram vehicle systems, including language settings for imported vehicles.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience, or a Level 4 qualification in Automotive Electrical Engineering, or a related field such as Automotive Servicing and Repair or Automotive Engineering.
• Must possess basic computer skills, be proficient in using diagnostic tools and software, and be capable of working with electronic control systems.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with both conventional and electric vehicle systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Must be able to provide written reference for the reference check.
