This role offers a broad range of opportunities to work with people of all ages in a varied number of strands of education. At Ara Automotive we deliver to school students who are exploring vocational opportunities, full time students who have committed to joining the trade, apprentices who are learning in the trade through to qualified trades people who are looking to up skill.Combined with this range of learners, Ara Automotive has one of the widest ranges of delivery sites spreading right throughout the Canterbury region. The primary focus of this role will be to deliver the fundamental automotive trade skills to groups of learners who are near the start of their journey to an automotive apprenticeship or career.
This learning will be delivered in well-equipped facilities through excellent educational practices.
Nga Pukenga Me Nga Wheako - Skills and experience:
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in the automotive industry. This could include both heavy or light automotive engineering
- We will give preference to those with skills in automotive electrical (including hybrid or full electric) and experience in common rail diesel and late model technologies
- Vision, innovation and a commitment to facilitating own and others' learning
- Capable of supporting students to achieve their learning outcomes
- The ability to develop and implement flexible teaching and learning methods, including the use of learning technologies
- Time management skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently administer, organise and co-ordinate activities and meet deadlines
- Engagement with assessment and feedback processes
- Teaching experience (if senior academic staff member)
- Digital literacy including - competence using a computer (including Microsoft office products)
- Effective communication with a diverse range of others, at all levels within and outside the organisation
