As a Medical Laboratory Scientist Microbiology/Biochemistry, you will provide a high quality, innovative diagnostic laboratory service that meets the needs of our patients, consumers, and whanau.

About Us

Health New Zealand Waitemata provides health services to approximately 650,000 residents of the North Shore, Waitakere, and Rodney areas. It has the largest population of any district health area.

About you

To be considered for this role, you must have:

A current annual practising certificate and registration with the New Zealand Medical Sciences Council, or eligibility to register with the Council.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

A demonstrated flexible approach to shift work.

The ideal candidate will also have:

  1. 5 years of experience in a hospital-based laboratory setting.

Experience and qualification in biochemistry or microbiology.

Experience, knowledge, or qualification in immunology or molecular testing.

New graduate with both biochemistry and microbiology placements may also be considered.

The successful candidate will be required to work in both Biochemistry and Microbiology, participating in a 24/7 roster, covering North Shore Hospital and Waitakere Hospital sites.

You will need to be a team player, well organised and able to manage the demands of competing priorities in a busy hospital laboratory environment. If this sounds like you, apply now!
