Dynaflow ENZED – Wellington’s trusted experts in hydraulic engineering — is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Mechanical Engineering Apprentice to join the team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for the mechanical industry who wants to build a long-term career in engineering. You’ll gain hands-on experience across hydraulic maintenance, repairs, installations, machining, and general engineering work while learning alongside experienced tradespeople.
The team at Dynaflow will support you throughout your apprenticeship journey, with day-to-day work closely aligned to your apprenticeship training and course requirements.
What You’ll Be Doing- Assisting with hydraulic maintenance, repairs, and installations
- Learning fitting, disassembly, repair, and reassembly processes
- Supporting machining and turning of mechanical components
- Assisting with welding work including MIG, TIG, and Arc
- Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings
- Helping with diagnostics, servicing, and overhauls
- Hose and fitting assembly in both workshop and field service environments
- Maintaining Dynaflow’s quality and safety standards
- Learning from experienced engineers and fitters on the job
- Great attitude and willingness to learn
- Passion for mechanical engineering and hands-on work
- Minimum NZQA Level 2 in Maths and Science
- Clean New Zealand driver’s licence
- Punctual, reliable, and self-motivated
- Great personality with confidence and strong communication skills
- Physically fit, energetic, and hardworking
- Some understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- A good sense of humour — we like to enjoy what we do!
