POSITIONS (all PERMANENT): Restaurant Manager (2) Indian Cook (1)

JOB DESCRIPTION: Restaurant Manager

  • Write rosters for the waiters and possibly (in conjunction with the chef) the kitchen
  • Responsible for immediate staffing levels, that is, judging correct levels according to the requirement of the operation. This includes hiring staff, training, signing staff off at appropriate times
  • Oversee performance, attitude, presentation, knowledge, training, hiring, firing, etc of all staff
  • Regulate general ambience of the bar, that is, lighting, music, temperature, general feel, clientele levels and standard
  • Maintain a clean and tidy appearance of the entire operation, including any maintenance which may need doing
  • Ensure stock levels are maintained at the correct levels. All stock must be available and not run out during operation. Stock levels must never be excessive, having idle money not being utilised
  • Ensure that customers’ wants and needs are met and in all possible cases exceeded. This includes constantly evaluating changing crowds. *Plan menus with the chefs for group functions
  • Ensure that quality controls are carried out
  • Ensure maintenance of standards in the kitchen, especially presentation of staff and length of time meals take to be cooked and carried out
  • Handle complaints and queries on various matters

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Either a relevant NZQA Level 5 qualification OR a minimum of three years relevant work experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Indian Cook

  • Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
  • Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
  • Preparing and cooking food
  • Plating food
  • Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff
  • Ensuring hygiene regulations are complied with
  • Freezing and preserve foods

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Either a relevant NZQA Level 2 qualification OR a minimum of one years relevant work experience.

ALL POSITIONS:
WAGE (minimum and maximum): $28 per hour
MINIMUM GUARANTEED HOURS: 30 per week. MAXIMUM HOURS: 40 per week
