Sales & Events Coordinator

Food Envy is a true Wellington business specialising in events and catering since 2012. We take pride in designing memorable experiences from canapé and celebration dinners; delegate functions conferences; to private milestones and events.

As an integral part of the Food Envy team you will be responsible for driving sales and the end-to-end planning, coordination, and delivery of our events and catering. This role requires strong organisational and relationship management skills, a high level of attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering work that we can genuinely be proud of.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Capturing leads and driving sales including building long-term relationships that convert to jobs and repeat business;
  • Lead the successful planning and delivery of assigned events, ensuring alignment with organisational goals, and delivery within budget and timeline;
  • Engage with clients to determine catering needs and propose suitable menu options within budget that also meet their expectations;
  • Efficiently manage quotes, job sheets, emails, and office coordination to ensure smooth daily operations;
  • Provide friendly and personalised service to every customer from initial enquiry through to the fulfillment of their event;
  • Report on all events delivered, including post-event evaluations, key insights, and expenditure tracking;
  • Collate, analyse, and report on feedback from clients to inform continuous improvement;
  • Create and maintain all event planning documents and risk management plans to a high professional standard;
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to create event menus that meets the expectations and budgets of our clients;
  • Stay up-to-date on the hospitality and events industry plus develop, manage and maintain positive external stakeholder relationships, including our venue providers;
  • Management of event and delivery staff including rostering and training, and upholding a positive workplace.
Key requirements
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in event management and catering coordination;
  • A tertiary qualification in hospitality event management, project management, or a related field is preferred, though not essential;
  • A full driver’s licence, with the ability to travel to events;
  • Hold a current Manager’s Certificate;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with diverse teams;
  • Strong decision-making abilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving, with attention to detail;
  • Proficiency in using computers including general office and event systems;
  • Flexibility to work outside of core business hours and weekends.
