Centre Cook – Learning Links Hector Drive
30 hours per week | Permanent
We are seeking a reliable and passionate Centre Cook to join the team at Learning Links Hector Drive. This role plays a vital part in supporting children’s wellbeing by providing nutritious, well-balanced meals in a busy early childhood education setting.
About the role
You will be responsible for preparing and providing daily meals and snacks for children, ensuring food is safe, appealing, and meets a range of dietary needs.
Key responsibilitiesPlan and prepare healthy meals and snacks for children in line with centre menus
Cater for dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural needs
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness
Follow safe food handling practices and centre policies
Manage kitchen supplies, ordering, and stock rotation
Keep accurate records related to food safety and allergies
What we are looking forExperience working as a cook or food preparer (experience in an ECE or care setting is an advantage)
Strong knowledge of dietary requirements and allergy management
Sound understanding of safe food handling and food safety practices
A calm, organised, and reliable approach
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider centre team
