About the roleThis is an excellent opportunity to promote, facilitate, and mentor our staff in clinical skills, policies and procedures, and to support our staff learning new specialty procedures.Collaborate with medical staff, charge nurse managers, other nurses, a service educator, ward receptionists, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech language therapists.Tasks include but are not limited to:Providing clinical coaching, mentorship and education to nursing staffSupporting staff development through teaching, feedback and competency assessmentDriving quality improvement initiatives aligned with service goals and KPIsEnsuring compliance with professional standardsCollaborating with leadership to identify training needs and workforce development opportunities.Assisting with patient transfers from Ōamaru to Dunedin via Ambulance About usŌamaru Hospital is a Rural Hospital with an inpatient ward providing care for acute medical and rehabilitation services, for adults of all ages across a wide variety of specialties.

We also have an Emergency Department with triage, a rapid assessment area, dedicated resuscitation areas, acute, sub-acute and paediatric cubicles along with ambulatory care spaces.Ōamaru Hospital is a rural hospital providing services to the wider Waitaki District.

With a 24-hour Emergency Department, a 16 bed inpatient ward, Maternity ward, Outpatients, Radiology, Allied Health and District Nursing services.

Salary rangeThis role is covered by the terms and conditions of the expired NZNO CEA and the salary will be in accordance with the RN Pay Scale, between step 5 $100,849 and step 7 $106,739 pro rata p.a dependant on relevant experience.
