- What you'll doPlay a vital role in managing the risks of medicine use across Aotearoa.
As an Advisor (Pharmacovigilance), you will identify and assess medicine safety signals, maintain the pharmacovigilance database, evaluate company submissions for updates of their data sheets, and provide trusted advice to healthcare professionals and the public.
This is a meaningful opportunity to apply your scientific and clinical expertise in a role that directly supports public health.Assess medicine safety signals: identify and review safety signals, recommend actions, including communication with healthcare professionals and consumers, when needed.Code reports of suspected adverse reactions into the pharmacovigilance database, problem solve and contact reporters as needed.Prepare and present to advisory Committees: Compile written reports on potential safety issues and present to the Medicines Adverse Reaction Committee.Support regulatory and technical processes: Evaluate submitted safety-related changes to data sheets and prepare technical advice and Official Information Act responses with senior oversight.Contribute to team development and projects: Support continuous improvement of tools and frameworks and participate in projects and programmes.Deliver high-quality, timely work: Manage time effectively, meet agreed standards, and build collaborative relationships while upholding equity and Treaty obligations.
Ko ngā pūkenga ōu- What you'll bringA tertiary qualification in a health or life science.Organisational skills with the ability to think ahead, use initiative, establish priorities, and meet deadlines whilst preserving high levels of accuracy and confidentiality.Clinical knowledge from your previous work experience and/or training, for example in a pharmacy or healthcare facilityPrevious experience in applying critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options and provide adviceStrong written and oral communication skills with the ability to tailor complex messages to a range of audiencesNgā hua o tō mātou whare
