About the farm

Mangatea Dairy Farm is one of three dairy farms owned and managed by TGH, milking 550 spring-calving cows on 170?ha of flat to rolling whenua located in Tauhei, Waikato. Ensuring quality milk production and efficiency, you’ll be working with a 44-a-side herringbone shed on a high-input system 4 dairy farm.

About the role

We’re seeking an experienced and passionate Dairy Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day operations at Mangatea Dairy Farm. This is a hands-on leadership role that works closely with the Dairy Farm Manager and wider rural team to deliver excellence across environmental, social, cultural and commercial outcomes.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Assisting with milking operations, animal health, calving, mating and feed planning.
  • Maintaining animal records and ensuring compliance with dairy company policies.
  • Monitoring and managing environmental impacts including effluent, soil, and water systems.
  • Promoting health, safety and wellbeing across the team.
  • Supporting junior staff development and contributing to a collaborative team culture.

About you

You’ll bring at least 3?years’ experience in the dairy industry with relevant industry certification. You’ll pride yourself on your farm machinery experience including tractors, side-by-side, and loaders. With the ability to be a team player and work on your own, your strong communication and problem-solving skills will impress us.
