Your role will include supporting the ease of access and transition ofclients through Specialist Mental Health Services back to their primary careprovider. You will be joining the Māori Mental Health team, based alongside Community Mental Health team inNelson.About theTeam/Service/ Location/ HoursYou will be joining the Māori Mental Health team, based alongside Community Mental Health team inNelson, Tasman and Motueka.We have offices and hot desks across all three locations, but the mainoffice for the Māori Mental Health team is based on the Nelson hospital campus inNelson City. Working hours are between Monday and Friday, 0800-1700, with no on-call.There may be an opportunity to increase the hours in this role for thesuccessful candidate.
About youWe are seeking an enthusiastic person to join ourmulti-disciplinary team. You will be responsible for providing and enhancingand effective Mental Health Service for Māori and their whanau.With post graduate experience working in mental health, with strong assessment and risk management skills;Experience working with a range of assessment tools and therapeutic interventions with people experiencing mental illness;The ability to apply clinical skills in a flexible, innovative, adaptable and autonomous manner;The skills to educate others informally e.g. families, and formally e.g. students;Experience of interagency co-operation and collaboration and awareness of agency boundaries;Knowledge of tikanga and Kaupapa Māori services regionally.Working atHealth New ZealandHealth NewZealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for thepeople of New Zealand.
