Junior Engineer - Christchurch

The Opportunity

My client is seeking a Junior Engineer / Technical Writer for a 6-month temporary assignment at their Christchurch site. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on industry experience while supporting the development of critical documentation that improves safety and operational efficiency.

• Work onsite to observe and document real-time maintenance tasks
• Develop clear, accurate, and detailed Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMPs)
• Collaborate with engineers, maintenance technicians, and safety teams
• Participate in Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and risk assessments
• Maintain and manage document version control and compliance standards
• Support continuous improvement through better task documentation

• Tertiary qualification in engineering (or relevant field)
• Excellent written communication and documentation skills
• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or industrial systems
• Confidence to work in operational environments and engage with technical staff
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
