We are currently seeking an experienced Intermediate or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-regarded contractor based in the Waikato region. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing team during an exciting time, with workload steadily increasing and projects slowly coming online.
About the Role
You'll be joining a tight-knit, supportive team, working closely with experienced professionals while enjoying a high level of autonomy. This role is well-suited to someone who's confident in pricing, managing, and running their own projects from start to finish.
Projects are diverse and range across light commercial, residential, and small-scale industrial sectors - no two days will look the same, and your experience will grow quickly in this hands-on role.
You'll be involved across all project phases, from tendering and procurement through to contract administration and final accounts.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions
- Procure subcontractors and manage contract negotiations
- Administer contracts and variations
- Monitor project costs and ensure financial targets are met
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and site teams
- Deliver multiple projects concurrently with minimal supervision
What We're Looking For
To be successful, you'll bring:
- A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
- 3-8+ years' QS experience (Intermediate or Senior level)
- Solid understanding of NZS3910 and other standard construction contracts
- Proven experience managing project finances independently
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- A role with real autonomy and ownership
- A collaborative, small-team environment where your input is valued
- Exposure to a wide range of interesting projects
- Support from senior leadership when needed, without micro-management
