TRANSCO CUSTOMS BROKERAGE LIMITED is seeking an experienced and reliable Forklift Operator to support day-to-day warehouse and freight handling operations

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe movement, loading, unloading, storage, and dispatch of freight within indoor and outdoor warehouse environments while ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to load, unload, move, stack, and stage freight and pallets.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing freight in accordance with company procedures and delivery schedules.
  • Assist with container unloading and loading activities.
  • Move stock and freight between warehouse locations and storage areas.
  • Conduct pre-operational safety checks and routine inspections of forklifts and warehouse equipment.
  • Ensure freight is securely stored and appropriately labelled to avoid damage or loss.
  • Assist with stock control, inventory checks, and warehouse housekeeping duties.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, including safe forklift operation practices.
  • Work collaboratively with warehouse staff, dispatch teams, and logistics coordinators to ensure timely freight movement.
  • Report damaged goods, safety hazards, or operational issues to supervisors promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of indoor and outdoor warehouse areas.
  • Assist with manual handling and general warehouse duties when required.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience working in a warehouse, freight, logistics, or distribution environment.
  • Experience in freight forwarding, customs brokerage, or logistics operations preferred.
  • Previous experience must demonstrate operating forklifts in indoor or outdoor settings handling freight and pallets.
  • Good understanding of warehouse operations and freight handling procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a physically demanding environment.
  • Must hold a valid New Zealand driver licence with a current Forklift Endorsement (F endorsement).
  • Current forklift operator certificate preferred but strictly not mandatory
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving freight where required.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment checks, including reference checks and any required drug and alcohol testing.
  • Familiarity with warehouse scanning systems and inventory processes advantageous.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to assist across other warehouse operations.
