- Position: Early Childhood Worker
- Location: Auckland
- Hours of work: minimum 30 hours per week
- Wages: $25 hourly rate
A newly established day care facility based in Kohimarama, Auckland, is looking for a qualified day care worker, to support children’s physical, emotional, social and learning requirements through activities, play and attentive care.
Skill and qualification required- Bachelor degree in early childhood education or other relevant fields;
- Or at least 3 years relevant working experience if you have no qualification;
- Bilingual ability is strongly recommended;
- A kind, genuine, caring nature with a calm and loving approach
- A fun, creative imagination and a passion for engaging with children through play and exploration
- Ability to lift and carry children and participate in active play.
- Excellent time management skills and computing skills;
- Able to work on flexible hours, including weekends
- Assist in preparing materials, equipment, and spaces for children’s educational and recreational activities.
- Manage children’s behaviour and guide their social and emotional development in a positive, supportive manner, encourage positive behaviour and help children develop self-regulation skills.
- Plan, prepare, and conduct age-appropriate activities that promote learning and creativity, support early learning in language.
- Engage and entertain children through reading, storytelling, interactive play, and games.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor recreational activities to ensure safety and participation.
- Oversee children’s daily routines, including transitions between activities, meals, rest times, and play.
- Monitor and maintain children’s hygiene, assisting with handwashing, toileting, or other personal-care needs as appropriate
- Follow emergency procedures and respond to incidents calmly and appropriately.
