Turf Shapes is a specialist golf course and sports-turf construction company delivering high-quality projects throughout New Zealand. We are undertaking a golf course construction project in Lower Hutt, involving the build of two new golf holes, and are seeking both an experienced machine operator and a construction labourer to join our team for the duration of the project.
Machine Operator role:
This role suits an operator who is confident in their skills and has experience working in earthworks environments.
Duties include:
Operating machinery for earthworks and excavation support
Assisting with general site labouring as required
Installation of irrigation and drainage systems
Seeding, turf establishment, and site finishing
Working within live construction environments and active sites
What we’re looking for:
Proven experience as a machine operator
Background in civil construction and/or earthworks
Strong health & safety awareness
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Relevant licences and endorsements preferred
Construction Labourer role (students welcome):
This role is ideal for tertiary students, students on break, or recent school leavers looking to gain hands-on construction experience or someone just keen to work outdoors on an interesting project.
Duties include:
General labouring and site support
Assisting with earthworks and excavation activities
Installing irrigation and drainage systems
Seeding, turf establishment, and site finishing
Supporting machine operators and supervisors
What we’re looking for:
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Comfortable with physical, outdoor work
Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
No prior experience required – training provided
Eligibility requirements (both roles):
Applicants must have NZ residency, citizenship, or a valid NZ work visa
Applicants may be required to undergo pre-employment alcohol and drug testing
