Excavator Operator
Tradestaff is seeking experienced Civil Machine Operators to join our team for a range of civil and infrastructure projects commencing within January 2026. With major works underway across Wellington and Lower Hutt, our clients are looking for reliable, skilled operators ready to be part of high-quality project delivery.
If you’re an experienced operator who enjoys varied work, solid hours, and being part of a professional crew, this is a great opportunity to start the new year strong.
What We’re Looking For:
- Current WTR endorsement (essential)
- Proven experience operating excavators and loaders (minimum requirement)
- Experience on additional machinery such as rollers, skid steers, dumpers, or similar is an advantage
- Good understanding of civil construction environments and site safety requirements
- A positive team attitude with the ability to follow instructions and work independently when required
- Reliable, punctual, and professional in representing Tradestaff on site
- Ability to pass a drug test and hold a clean MOJ record
About the Work:
- Operating machinery across a variety of civil construction and infrastructure sites
- Earthworks, trenching, site preparation, material handling, and general operating duties
- Working on projects throughout Wellington and Lower Hutt
- Carrying out daily machine checks and maintaining equipment to a high standard
- Supporting site teams to keep projects running safely and efficiently
