Opportunity for Health & Safety Business Partner to join a leading engineering consultancy- regular travel, covering Auckland, Waikato and BOP sites.
You will be responsible for providing timely and trusted advice to leaders and teams to drive a proactive approach to Health, Safety and Wellbeing. You will be part of a national team working across compliance and client specific requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
- Trusted advisor to business leaders and teams on health, safety and wellbeing, ensuring HSW requirements are built into project planning and delivery
- Develop and maintain HSW systems, procedures and risk assessments
- Lead incident investigations, manage corrective actions and support the incident management process
- Mentor and support Health & Safety Representatives, Location Representatives and Wellbeing Champions
- Oversee contractor and supplier HSW pre-qualification and performance monitoring
- Support injury management and return-to-work programmes in collaboration with the Occupational Health and Wellbeing team
- Conduct audits and inspections, identifying and supporting improvement opportunities
- Monitor legislative changes and support WorkSafe liaison when required
Skills and Experience Required:
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health & Safety
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally in construction, environmental or engineering sectors
- Strong knowledge of NZ HSW legislation, Codes of Practice, and ISO45001
- ICAM investigation and audit training and experience
- Competent in risk assessment, including Bowtie methodology
- Experience with Just Culture or Human and Organisational Performance (HOP)
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organisation
- Excellent communication, relationship building presentation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- A mindset focused on education, empowerment and continuous improvement
- Full NZ driver's licence
