Through integration and collaboration,we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability,whānau-centred care, and excellence.About the RoleJoin our dedicated Allied Health Dietitian team at Burwood Hospital asan Allied Health Assistant, supporting the care of inpatients through directand indirect patient contact and essential non-clinical activities.

You will work alongside our small team of Dietitians whoprovide clinical dietetic services for inpatients across the Older PersonsHealth and Rehabilitation service based at Burwood Hospital.
We also have anoutpatient service for Orthopaedic weight management.
The team has a variety ofexperience to help support and facilitate your development.

Key Responsibilities: Support registered dietitians by undertaking delegated tasks such as nutrition screening (MST tool), anthropometric data collection, and food record analysisProvide nutritional education and support to patients, nursing staff, and other healthcare assistantsConduct meal-time observations and monitor nutritional supplement intakeAssist with clinical nutrition audits, patient satisfaction surveys, and quality improvement projectsMaintain clear, accurate documentation in line with clinical standards and confidentiality policiesCommunicate effectively with patients, family/whānau, and multidisciplinary teams, adapting to individual needsParticipate in ongoing professional development, training, and supervision to maintain and develop clinical skillsDemonstrate commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and equitable health outcomes for Māori and all populationsAbout YouTo succeed, you should have a minimum of NCEA Level 1 inEnglish and Maths (or equivalent), with a willingness to complete a Level 3Health and Wellbeing qualification if not already attained.

You shoulddemonstrate the following: Experience or strong interest in health or disability settings, with a willingness to learn new skillsComputer literate with basic IT skills; proficiency with Microsoft Teams is a plusAbility to follow instructions and work under the supervision of qualified allied health professionalsExperiencewithin the hospital or healthcare setting with patient contact is desirableExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with a respectful and supportive approachCompetency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthPhysically fit and able to undertake tasks requiring manual handling safelyFull, current New Zealand driver
