Lalita Transport is a well-established regional courier & delivery operating across South island in different region. We pride ourselves on timely service, strong route coordination, excellent customer communication, and safe, efficient logistics operations.We are seeking a skilled and motivated Transport Operations Coordinator to manage the Otago region of the local delivery network and support our team of drivers, dispatchers, and logistics staff.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate delivery drivers, schedules, and route optimisation across the Otago region
- Oversee dispatch operations, ensuring timely pickup and deliveries
- Monitor and manage performance metrics (on-time delivery, driver efficiency, customer satisfaction)
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to service standards
- Maintain compliance with transport laws, health & safety, and company policies
- Prepare delivery manifests, reports, and daily/weekly operational summaries
- Assist in recruitment, training, and performance reviews of delivery and dispatch staff
- Maintain and oversee the condition and maintenance schedules of fleet vehicles
- Implement cost-control strategies for fuel, vehicle wear, scheduling, and overtime
- Minimum 2 years experience in a logistics, delivery coordination, or transport operations role; supervisory or managerial experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage staff and schedules under pressure while maintaining high service quality
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to liaise with customers and stakeholders
- Working knowledge of route planning, dispatch software, transport regulations, and vehicle maintenance basics
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and ability to respond to changes in demand or delivery delays
- A level 4 qualification or above can replace the required work experiences.
