Sales Representative
RD Petroleum is a progressive company in the fuel industry with a reputation for professionalism, service excellence and commitment to customers. We distribute fuel and oil products to customers throughout the South Island, providing fast, reliable fuel delivery & service/support to rural, farm/ agricultural, commercial, aviation and retail customers.
The Role:
We’re seeking an experienced sales representative to help sell the fuel products and services that our customers rely on.- You will have a strong understanding of the sales process and excel at generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals.
- You will be a quick learner who has strong negotiating skills and an ability to showcase our offerings in a compelling way.
- You will liaise with other teams within the wider organisation, specifically our customer service, transport, and scheduling teams, in order to ensure our new customers are on-boarded seamlessly, and our existing customers receive the highest quality care and attention.
- You will represent RD Petroleum when tasked with giving presentations and attending networking events and trade shows, therefore you must be both personable and professional.
- Importantly you will coordinate with other sales representatives to ensure that quotas are being met and company standards are being upheld.
- You will identify prospects, set appointments, make effective qualifying sales calls, and oversee the sales cycle to close new business in all service categories. This in turn will enable you to achieve weekly, monthly, and annual sales quotas by successfully implementing sales and marketing strategies and tactics
- We will expect you to generate leads and build relationships by organizing daily work schedules to call on existing and potential customers using consumer research as well as comprehensive knowledge of how our solutions meet the needs of customers
The role allows for the additional payment of commission, based on performance.
The Successful Applicant will have:
- At least three years of sales experience with an agile and performance-driven approach to sales
- Experience in achieving team targets.
- Experience in the use of Customer Relationship Management platforms – we use Sales Force.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and Teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence communicating with a wide range of audiences.
- The ability to build and maintain relationships across all functional associations of the role.
- The ability to manage a wide range of activities, prioritise own workload, deal with conflicting demands and unforeseen circumstances.
- Be able to show empathy towards customers, whilst maintaining the needs of the business.
- The ability to demonstrate an understanding of and maintains the principles of confidentiality.
- Ambition, self-motivation and enthusiasm.
- Respect of diversity.
- Ability to work legally in New Zealand (NZ Residency or NZ Work Visa).
- Satisfactory completion of relevant probity checks before commencing this role.
