About the Role

The Programme Coordinator is a key member of the Kainga Whakatipu hub team, working alongside the Programme Director and the Delivery Team to ensure the smooth running of the programme to support eligible hapu mama, tamariki and whanau to live in warmer, drier, and healthier homes.

Key functions will include: managing the referral systems and processes, being the key contact point for the programme, coordination of some interventions, ordering of programme resources, undertaking quality improvement initiatives and managing the information in the programme database.

The Programme Coordinator will work collaboratively with other team members and key partners to support the provision of interventions to make local homes warmer and drier.

Hours of work will be 32 hours a week.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Kainga Whakatipu is the Healthy Homes Initiative (HHI) provider for the MidCentral rohe. The programme works with eligible whanau living in cold and damp homes to provide education, advocacy and practical interventions to make the home warmer and drier.

The aim is to increase the number of tamariki and their whanau living in warm, dry, and healthy homes and consequently enhance their health and wellbeing i.e., by reducing the number of housing-related hospitalisations.

About you

Our ideal candidate is an experienced coordinator and/or administrator who wants to utilise their knowledge and skills to add value to, and ensure the success of, the programme.

Skills and attributes we are looking for include:

  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written (including a great phone manner).
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate tasks and to deliver against commitments.
  • Excellent computer skills - proficient in use of Office 365 programmes.
  • Self motivated with the ability to work autonomously as well as positively within a team.
  • A healthy sense of humour and a genuine desire to help others.
