Production Chef's wanted!

With a focus on innovation and excellence, our wholesale production kitchen is experiencing exciting growth, and we’re searching for two talented Production Chefs to be part of this journey!
The Production Chef is the key person making sure our food production runs smoothly and efficiently. That means everything from helping plan the menu and making sure recipes are followed perfectly, to keeping a close eye on quality. You'll need to know your stuff when it comes to cooking, food safety, and managing our ingredients.The main goal is to make sure we're always producing top-notch food, keeping the team happy and productive, and following all our rules. Plus, you'll play a big part in making sure we don't waste money and that we meet our goals.
We can guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week, hours will be worked on a rostered basis across 7 days of the week and the wage band for this role is $25 - $32 per hour depending on experience. Our production kitchen is located in Rongotai, Wellington!
Key responsibilities:- Food Preparation and Cooking – Ensure high-quality, consistent food production, following recipes and presentation standards
- Keep the kitchen running smoothly – Stay on top of workflow, ensuring things are efficient and stress-free.
- Manage ingredients & supplies – Keep an eye on stock, place orders, and minimize waste to keep costs down. Ensuring that product wastage (from raw ingredient to finished item) is minimised and fully accounted for
- Prioritize hygiene & safety – Follow food safety rules and keep the kitchen clean and compliant.
- Support the team – Work alongside and guide kitchen staff to create a great work environment.
- At least 3 years proven experience as a Chef in a wholesale food production environment
- A deep understanding of cooking techniques, including baking, pastry, and various culinary styles.
- Proven experience working in a wholesale production kitchen setting, ideally with high-volume production, is highly desirable.
- Experience in developing and standardizing recipes for consistent quality and production efficiency.
- Understanding of cost control measures and experience in managing kitchen budgets.
- Team player and able to show respect and work collaboratively with other team members
