General Manager - Human Resources
With 15 branches and around 300 employees throughout New Zealand, we are one of the biggest names in lift truck supplies.
We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced General Manager – Human Resources to join our Senior Leadership Team and help shape the future of our people strategy.
Why This Role Matters
This is a pivotal leadership position in a business where engagement is high and culture matters. Reporting directly to the Country Manager, and a dotted line to the Director Human Resources APAC, you’ll play a key role in driving both strategic and operational HR initiatives across the organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading a team of five, you’ll be responsible for the full HR portfolio, including:
- Developing and executing a people strategy aligned with local and global business goals
- Supporting leadership capability and manager development
- Providing pragmatic, solutions-focused HR advice
- Driving initiatives that sustain high levels of employee engagement
- Championing a culture of performance, inclusion, and continuous improvement
Requirements
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for a seasoned HR professional who is:
- A strategic thinker with a hands-on approach
- Experienced across the full HR spectrum, including employment relations
- Comfortable working in operational environments and engaging with diverse teams
- Approachable, resilient, and an excellent communicator
- 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior HR role
- Proven ability to deliver strategic and commercial HR outcomes
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices
- Experience leading organisational change and transformation
- Exceptional leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills
