The role, which reports to the Regional Delivery Manager for Health Technology Deployment and Delivery, focuses on driving timely, effective delivery across initiatives of varying scale and complexity.Key responsibilities include: Manage multiple capital projects, from single equipment items to fleet initiativesDeliver projects of differing value and complexity, some spanning multiple financial yearsCoordinate with Infrastructure, Digital Services, and other asset portfolios as requiredEngage with senior Health NZ clinical, operational, and regional stakeholdersProvide updates and reports to Health Technology Management and Regional Capital Committees as neededAbout the Team/Service The Procurement, Supply Chain and Health Technology (PSC&HTM) team at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora are a national function with a vast and complex scope.
They play a critical role in ensuring the availability, safety, and efficiency of clinical and non-clinical goods and services across the health system. Responsible for managing and influencing over $9 billion in annual spend, the team are central to delivering high-quality patient outcomes and standardising product usage across regions.About youYou are an experienced project manager with a strong background in delivering projects within healthcare, health technology, infrastructure, or the public sector. A confident and effective communicator, you are able to engage and influence senior clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders, particularly in high‑pressure and sensitive environments.
You will bring:Minimum experience of 8 years in a senior leadership role in large complex organisationsPost graduate qualification/certification in a relevant field e.g. Prince2/PMP and/or equivalent level of practical clinical, clinical engineering, business, technology, procurement or complex end-to-end project delivery experienceProven ability to deliver highly complex, end‑to‑end (turnkey) projects in high‑pressure and sensitive environmentsStrong leadership, planning, and problem‑solving capability, including people management and resource prioritisationDemonstrated experience in senior stakeholder engagement, investment paper development, governance reporting, and use of Microsoft and project management toolsWorking at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
