- Our Grafton location is preferred, but we are open to considering candidates residing outside of Auckland who are the right fit for the role.

About the role
The Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Network Aotearoa is seeking a Project Manager to join our small, high-performing team delivering the AYA Cancer Action Plan. You'll be joining a collaborative, values-driven team that is passionate about improving outcomes for young people with cancer.The work is varied, exciting, and meaningful.
The Project Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating several network projects and initiatives. The exact projects will be determined based on the skillset of the project manager, but we're especially interested in hearing from applicants with experience in any of the following priority areas;- Developing recommendations and practical resources to promote national consistency in the medical and non-medical supports provided for AYAs undergoing medical procedures
- Developing a comprehensive reintegration programme for AYA cancer survivors
- Developing and implementing our AYA workforce development strategy

About the Network
The AYA Cancer Network Aotearoa was established in 2014 to determine and direct improvements in cancer services for young people aged 12-24 years. The Network provides strategic direction and clinical leadership of AYA cancer in New Zealand and is contracted directly to Te Aho o Te Kahu - the Cancer Control Agency to undertake this role.The aim of the Network is to find new and innovative ways of delivering care to all AYAs diagnosed with cancer and ultimately, to improve outcomes.
About you
We're looking for someone who shares our commitment to improving AYA cancer care and brings the following experience and qualities:
- Proven experience with projects of a similar size and scope in youth health or cancer care, preferably across the health, NGO, and community/social sectors
- A relevant tertiary qualification (health, clinical, administration, management, social science).
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of health and/or social services sectors.
- Demonstrated interest in youth health or cancer care, evidenced by previous work, study or volunteer experience.
- Experience in planning, implementation, reporting and evaluation processes.
- Experience in stakeholder and external relationship management.
- Excellent writing, editing, presentation, and communication skills.
- A commitment to biculturalism and to achieving equitable outcomes for Maori.
