  • Manatū Hauora (the Ministry) is seeking candidates who wish to be considered for appointment to the End of Life Review Committee (the Review Committee).
The Review Committee is established under section 26 of the End of Life Choice Act 2019 (the EOLC Act) which enables people who experience unbearable suffering from terminal illness the ability to legally ask for medical assistance to end their lives.

You will be committed to improving the health of New Zealanders, through contribution to the Committee's legislative requirements.The functions of the Review Committee are set out under section 26(2) of the EOLC Act.

  • Kōrero mōuFor all applicants, governance and/or regulatory experience is a plus but not required.
It is beneficial if you have the ability to lead strategically, and to balance competing demands.The Ministry is seeking applications from candidates with the following experience:Medical ethics Two health practitioners, one of whom must be a medical practitioner who practises in the area of end-of-life care.The ideal candidate will also have an understanding of mātauranga Māori, including tikanga Māori and te ao Māori.How to apply
