Commis Chef - Pastry

Amisfield Restaurant is seeking a Commis Chef - Pastry to join our award-winning kitchen team. This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career chef with a passion for pastry to develop their skills in a world-class fine dining environment.

In this role you will support the preparation, execution, and service of refined, seasonal desserts that reflect Amisfield’s philosophy of provenance, precision, and excellence. You’ll work closely with a talented and supportive team, using regional and ethically sourced ingredients, while building strong technical foundations in pastry.

About the Role
  • Assist with the preparation and service of pastry and dessert components for daily service
  • Follow recipes, methods, and plating specifications with accuracy and consistency
  • Support service periods with strong organisation, pace, and attention to detail
  • Assist with recipe development, testing, and refinement under guidance
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient pastry section
  • Support stock rotation, mise en place, deliveries, and temperature monitoring
  • Uphold the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety
  • Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen and front-of-house teams
About You
  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen or pastry environment
  • A genuine interest in pastry, desserts, and fine dining
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Calm and reliable under pressure
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and pride in your work
  • Flexible to work rostered shifts, including evenings and weekends
