Procurement Officer

K International NZ Limited T/A Powerful 4x4 is a company retailing a wide range of vehicle parts and accessories in Palmerston North. We also have a website selling our products nationwide online. We now need a Procurement Officer to select and buy goods for sale.

• Monitoring sales data, stock levels, and product performance to assess purchasing needs and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• Studying trade, supplier, manufacturer, and market information to stay informed of changing market conditions, product availability, pricing trends, and customer demand.
• Negotiating purchase prices, supply terms, promotional support, delivery arrangements, and other commercial terms with suppliers.
• Designing and implementing pricing, marketing, promotional, and product display strategies to support sales and improve product turnover.
• Liaising with management regarding long-term purchasing plans, sales promotions, stock requirements, and business development strategies.
• Establishing purchasing and stock plans according to seasonal demand, sales forecasts, budget requirements, and business priorities.
• Anticipating consumer trends and determining the quantity, style, quality, range, and type of goods to be purchased for retail sale.
• Comparing and selecting products from different suppliers based on price, quality, availability, customer demand, profitability, and suitability for the retail business.
• Reviewing supplier performance, product sales results, and customer feedback to support future purchasing decisions.

• NZQF Level 4 or higher qualification in the field relevant to business/procurement/trade, or at least 2 years relevant work experience
• Good communication skills and team spirit
• Can pass drug test and have a clean police record
