The Role:We're on the hunt for a reliable, experienced Key Holder to join our Palmerston North crew on a part-time basis. This isn't just a standard retail assistant role, as a Key Holder, you'll step up as the leader of the store on the days you're in charge, taking ownership of opening and closing procedures, daily banking, cash handling, and keeping the team motivated and on track
You'll be the go-to person when the Store Manager and Assistant Manager aren't on shift, so we need someone who's confident, proactive, and genuinely loves what they do.
What You'll Be Doing:- Opening and closing the store when required
- Leading, inspiring and engaging the team during your shifts
- Greeting every customer and delivering outstanding, personalised service
- Recommending, locating, and helping customers find exactly the right gear for their needs
- Maintaining store presentation to a high standard
- Keeping on top of day-to-day admin tasks
- Staying aware of daily, weekly and monthly sales targets and doing what it takes to reach them
- Building and promoting our customer loyalty program
- Previous retail or customer service experience (essential)
- Natural leadership — you can hold the fort, motivate a team, and make sound decisions
- A genuine passion for surf and/or skate culture, or an eagerness to learn
- Outstanding communication skills — warm, clear and professional with both customers and your team
- High attention to detail
- Strong time management
- A positive attitude and the ability to keep your cool
Monday: 11am – 3pm
Friday: 9am – 5pm
Saturday: 9am – 5pm
Start date: As soon as possible.
