This is a new role in the Ministry's Ministerial and Executive Services team. We are responsible for the Ministry's corporate accountability documents, planning and reporting, and official correspondence functions. This is a chance to shape a new role and support the Ministry to continuously improve our OIA processes.
You'll work closely with the Senior Adviser to prepare OIA requests, information requests and releases, and play an important part in monitoring performance, highlighting concerns and providing solutions.This position also provides back up support to other positions within the Ministerial and Executive Services team providing you with beneficial exposure across the other functions.

You'll come to us from a similar central Government OIA-centred role, which means you'll be very familiar with the workings of Government and specifically OIA requests. What you'll bring | Te wāhi ki a koePrevious experience in responding to OIA requests, information requests and releases, and official correspondenceDemonstrated capability in applying relevant legislation (including Official Information Act and relevant privacy legislation) machinery of government processesExperience providing advice to Senior Leaders and Ministers including the development of briefings and internal memorandumsExperience in building and maintaining effective working relationships and excellent stakeholder management skillsProficient writing skills, experience and demonstrated capability in successfully communicating effectively to diverse audiencesProficient capability operating in a fast paced and changeable work environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office tools and productsA tertiary qualification is highly desirable.

Salary range | Whānuitanga Utu ā-TauThe appointing base salary budget for this position is $79,078 to $87,406 per annum + KiwiSaver.
