The Role

We are looking for a dedicated Cultivation & Drilling Team Leader who can manage and mentor a small team while working hands-on with a range of machinery to deliver high-quality cultivation and drilling outcomes. The role involves coordinating operations, maintaining safety standards, and serving as the main point of contact for clients to ensure expectations are exceeded.

• Leading and managing a small team, ensuring all operators are well-trained, confident, and adhere to safety standards.
• Working hands-on with a range of cultivation and drilling machinery, including precision drills.
• Collaborating with the Operations Dispatch Manager to ensure timely and efficient job completion.
• Serving as the primary point of contact with clients while keeping them informed and ensuring their expectations are exceeded.
• Taking ownership of your team’s workflow, safety practices, equipment maintenance, and job close-out to support accurate and timely invoicing.

• Proven experience in cultivation and drilling, with at least 2 years of hands-on operation with various equipment.
• Strong understanding of agronomy and seedbed preparation, including pasture and forage crop planting requirements.
• Leadership experience—able to guide, support, and mentor your team while actively participating in operations.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills—capable of managing scheduling, client relationships, and documentation accurately.
• A full NZ Driver’s Licence (Class 1) and relevant machinery endorsements (R, T, W). A Class 5 licence would be advantageous.
