Retail Sales Assistant: Summer Season Casual - ref. i68704723
We love helping people prepare for a new arrival, update their toddler’s wardrobe or finding that special birthday gift.
We need an extra pair of hands to help out in our retail store located in central Napier in the run up to Christmas and over the summer season. This is a customer focused role, working on the store floor so best suits someone who loves interacting with customers and small children.
This casual position is available to provide extra support during the pre Christmas & summer season and provide cover for staff holidays and sick leave. Orientation shifts will begin in late September, with casual shifts available from October / early November.
Our store hours are 9.30am- 5pm week days and 9.30am
- 4pm Saturday, 10am
- 2pm Sunday (extended opening from November).
- 8 hour blocks and would include week day and week end shifts.
Ideally you will have a flexible schedule to be able to cover shifts over various days.
This is a customer facing role working on the shop floor. Duties include:
- Engaging with customers with a focus on customer service and sales
- Using POS and inventory management systems
- Unpacking, pricing and putting away incoming stock
- Restocking shelves
- Cleaning and tidying
- Offering product recommendations and advice
- Gift wrapping
- Processing online orders
A passion for sales and enjoy working in a child friendly environment is essential. Ideally you will have had previous experience engaging with babies, small children and their care givers along with an interest in baby & children's products.
A people person who enjoys engaging with customers and building a relationship with them, coupled with the ability to think on your feet and go above & beyond in delivering warm & friendly customer service.
Like any retail focused role this position requires lots of time on your feet so someone who brings energy and enthusiasm with them to work, along with the ability to switch tasks at a moments notice while still remaining calm and friendly is essential.
