Checkout Operator
Part time: 27.5 hours per week

We are looking for a friendly, reliable person with excellent customer service and communication skills to join our busy checkout team part time as a Checkout Operator.
You will be working with a committed and motivated team who prides themselves on the amazing service we offer our customers here at New World Mosgiel.
Your day-to-day will include:- Delivering outstanding customer service and helping to resolve customer issues
- Checkout operating and packing
- Lotto
- Managing Self-Checkout lanes
- Cleaning
- Trolleys
- Authorising alcohol and tobacco sales
- Providing concierge service for our click and collect customers
- Assisting the grocery team
- Maintaining Health and Safety and Food Safety standards at all times
- Tuesday 12:00pm – 7:00pm
- Wednesday 9:00am – 1:00pm
- Thursday 11:30am – 7:00pm
- Friday 8:00am – 1:00pm
- Saturday 12:00pm – 5:00pm
- 27.5 hours per week total.
- Customer service driven – you'll spend a lot of time helping customers
- Excellent communication skills
- Fast on your feet, your days will be busy serving customers quickly and accurately
- Good physical fitness – you'll be on your feet all day and moving
- Have a good work ethic
- Be able to work well under pressure
- Flexibility to pick up extra shifts and do extra hours
- Be honest, you will be handling money and processing customer transactions
- Be reliable, we are a close team and you will be missed if you are not here!
- Good personal presentation
- A current off-licence Manager's Certificate and an LCQ qualification is preferred but full training can be provided for the right person.
Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but full training can be provided to the right person.
