The Specialist Chemical Pathology department encompasses Special Biochemistry, Endocrinology, Trace Metals and Chromatography and provides laboratory services for 3 national programmes (Bowel Screening, Newborn Screening and Antenatal Screening).
This position is full time working rostered shifts Monday to Sunday.The role is based primarily in the Chromatography and Special Biochemistry areas but there may also be a requirement to work in other sections of the department.
Primary tasks for this role will involve pre-analytical work including extraction and preparation of samples, analytical work including automated and manual methodologies and general admin work.Key personal skills we are looking for in candidates are those who can remain focussed on task(s) when under pressure and are comfortable in a work environment that can demand high flexibility.About the Team/Service/ LocationLabPLUS is an IANZ accredited medical laboratory and is one of New Zealand's premier laboratories.
LabPLUS are part of the state-owned Te Toka Tumai Auckland.We offer a comprehensive pathology service for Auckland City Hospital, Starship Children’s Hospital, National Women's Health, and the Greenlane Clinical Centre.
LabPLUS is also a major referral laboratory for specialised laboratory tests for New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
