We are looking for outgoing, friendly person who is capable of looking after our Sushi/Bento Department to make sure that we are able to provide St.Pieres Experience !

JOB SUMMARY AND DESCRIPTION: Cook has a key role in the kitchen to ensure serving quality food to customers with other chefs, cooks

and other kitchen staff. They need to be equipped with food preparation and cooking techniques to
cook dishes in a commercial kitchen without supervision, and they may be required to be involved in

planning menus and filling a chef position in their absence.

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties of St Pierres Cook include, but are not limited to: Quality of foodstuff and other supplies up to the company standard

 Receiving and checking incoming goods from the company’s suppliers;  Acting professionally and courteously in all situations;  Reporting any defective supply (e.g., short supply, oversupply, or unsatisfactory quality) to
the managers in the store immediately;  Arranging re-orders and/or taking remedial actions to ensure uninterrupted operation; Keep all cooking facilities and tools ready for use
 Checking and regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment before
starting work;  Ensuring all facilities and cooking tools are clean and hygienic to meet Food Safety and
council regulations;  Addressing any issues to make equipment ready for use, either by taking action personally or

by reporting to other kitchen staff; Preparing and cooking

 Performing the preparation, cooking, and presentation of Japanese food items (Sushi, noodles, Sashimi, Tempura, and other Japanese dishes) to a high standard; Seasoning food

 Seasoning Japanese foods based on the company’s recipes;  Portioning and placing dishes on plates or in packages with sauces and garnishes according to

the company’s recipes; Storing food

 Storing all foods in an appropriate environment (temperature, humidity, etc.);  Monitoring the quality of foods at all times; Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
 Fitting customer preferences and dietary requirements as needed;  Having sufficient knowledge and skills in Japanese ways of seasoning;  Adjusting recipes flexibly to meet dietary needs;  Being involved in planning menus, creating recipes, and cooking sample dishes with other chefs, cooks and kitchen staff;  Assisting the training and self-learning of other kitchen staff;

Qualification and Experience Requirements
  • Three years of verifiable, relevant work experience or qualification in culinary arts and cookery
equivalent to, or higher than, New Zealand Certificate Level 4; ● Less relevant work experience might be accepted following a short-term trial or other proof of skills; ● Good command of English to carry out the above duties; ● Be ready for work in a food handling operation; ● The successful applicants will have an outgoing personality, some knowledge of Japanese food, be well-presented and enjoy being kept busy in our quick service Japanese restaurant/takeout store;

Applicants for this position should have NZ residncy or a valid NZ work visa
