This opportunity would allow you to work with and co-ordinate a speciality ward such as Cardiology, Renal, Haematology, Medical Assessment Unit (As part of the Emergency Department) or General Medicine. About the Role:As a Core Clinician Physiotherapist working in the acute medical wards you’ll play a vital role in delivering patient- and whaanau-centred care.
You’ll assess, plan, and deliver evidence-informed physiotherapy interventions in a fast-paced hospital environment while collaborating within an interdisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes for patients.Key Responsibilities:Manage a clinical caseload with autonomy and supportContribute to assessment, treatment planning, and rehabilitation of patients in acute medical settingsEngage in discharge planning and transitions of careCommunicate effectively with patients, whaanau, and the broader healthcare teamSupport and mentor less experienced staff and studentsParticipate in weekend and on-call rosters as requiredAbout You:A New Zealand-registered physiotherapist with a current Annual Practising CertificateA strong communicator and team player with excellent time managementClinically confident with experience (or strong interest) in acute careCulturally responsive, with a commitment to health equity and patient-centred careAdaptable, self-motivated, and passionate about continuous learningHold a full drivers licenceWorking at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
