Yue’s Dumpling Kitchen is a popular Chinese restaurant in Auckland known for its authentic handmade dumplings, noodles, and traditional northern-style Chinese dishes. Our mission is to bring the taste of home-cooked Chinese comfort food to our customers using fresh, high-quality ingredients and time-honoured recipes.

As our customer base continues to grow, we are looking for skilled and passionate Cooks to join our busy and friendly kitchen team.

• Prepare, cook, and present a range of authentic Chinese dishes, including handmade dumplings, stir-fries, noodles, soups, and rice dishes, according to Yue’s Dumpling Kitchen’s recipes and quality standards.
• Operate and maintain commercial kitchen equipment such as woks, steamers, fryers, and dough mixers safely and efficiently.
• Monitor cooking processes and adjust temperatures and seasoning to ensure consistent flavour and presentation.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and workplace safety in compliance with New Zealand Food Safety regulations.
• Assist with ingredient preparation, stock management, and ensure efficient rotation and storage of supplies.
• Supervise and train junior kitchen assistants to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy hours.
• Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.

• At least 2 years of relevant experience working in a busy commercial kitchen, restaurant, or takeaway.
• Strong understanding of Chinese cooking techniques, especially dumpling preparation, noodle dishes, and stir-fried meals.
• Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements in New Zealand.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Team-oriented, reliable, and able to follow standardised recipes accurately.
