Mō te tūnga | About the roleThe Range Warden is responsible for the day to day operation of the Kaipara Air Weapons Range by ensuring the training area is well maintained and kept ready for training exercises at any time.The main responsibilities of this role are:The management and maintenance of all land and onsite facilities/ buildings.Conducting regular inspections of the land and infrastructure such as fences, pest control, tussocks/ grasses.Coordinating with the Defence Estate/ Facilities team alongside external contractors to facilitate maintenance activities.Consulting with various external agency personnel such as Iwi, Auckland Council Environmental, the local community and DOC on matters affecting the range.Supervising personnel using the Weapons Range and ensure H&S standards are maintained.There will be times when you are required to work outside normal working hours, for which you will be compensated for.Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and ExperienceIf you are someone who enjoys active, outdoor work, and a rural lifestyle to match, then this could be the perfect role for you!Along with considerable experience in facilities management and maintenance, and overseeing the day to day operational requirements of a site, you will also:Have experience in land management and maintenance.Have knowledge of the agricultural, pastoral or forestry care.Be self
