Directional Driller for Civil Crew

Job Overview:**

We are seeking a skilled Directional Driller to join our civil crew. The ideal candidate will have experience in horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and will be responsible for operating drilling equipment, planning drilling trajectories, and ensuring safety and efficiency throughout the drilling process.

• *Directional Drilling Operations:*
• Set up and operate directional drilling equipment for installation of underground utilities.
• Interpret project plans and specifications to determine drilling paths and techniques.
• *Planning and Execution:*
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to plan drilling operations.
• Conduct site assessments and prepare drilling plans, including trajectory and depth calculations.
• *Monitoring and Reporting:*
• Monitor drilling progress and adjust parameters to optimize performance.
• Maintain accurate records of drilling operations, including depths, pressures, and materials used.
• *Safety and Compliance:*
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
• Conduct regular equipment inspections and perform routine maintenance.

• Proven experience as a directional driller in civil construction or related field.
• Knowledge of HDD techniques, equipment, and safety practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions in the field.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Relevant certifications in drilling operations or safety (e.g., OSHA, First Aid).
• Valid driver’s license is a pre-requisite; CDL preferred.

• Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and environments.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical labour.
