About the Role
As a Psychiatric Registrar at Tauranga and Whakatane Hospitals, you will be part of a dynamic team providing psychiatric care to the region's population. You will rotate through Tauranga Hospital, with an opportunity to work in Whakatane Hospital for a 13-week period.The training program is accredited by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), offering both basic and advanced levels of training. You will have the opportunity to gain experience in a wide range of psychiatric specialties.

The psychiatric team is well-established and dedicated to providing high-quality mental health care across the Bay of Plenty region, with services spanning both Tauranga and Whakatane Hospitals.
About you
As a Psychiatric Registrar, you will have a strong passion for psychiatry and a commitment to enhancing the mental well-being of those in the community. You will hold an MBChB or equivalent medical qualification, and full registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).A keen interest in psychiatry and a dedication to pursuing RANZCP-accredited training are essential. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team are key. While previous psychiatric experience is preferred, it is not essential, and we are open to applicants with varying levels of experience.
