Based: Waipukurau – Hawke’s Bay
WaterForce is a leading New Zealand-owned water solutions company, servicing rural, residential, commercial, and agricultural customers across the country. Our Waipukurau branch plays a key role supporting the Hawke’s Bay rural community, delivering solutions for drinking water, stock water, tank storage, pumping, water treatment, and irrigation.
We are looking for a qualified Electrician to join our supportive Waipukurau team. We would also consider someone who is close to full qualification, provided they are a good fit and keen to grow.
This is a varied, hands-on role that will suit someone who enjoys working outdoors, problem solving, and dealing directly with rural customers.
About the role:
You’ll be involved in a wide range of electrical and technical work across our water and pumping services, including:- Electrical service, fault-finding, installation, and commissioning of pumping and water systems
- Working on drinking water, stock water, irrigation, water treatment, and tank storage systems
- Diagnosing issues on-site and providing practical, customer-focused solutions
- Working closely with rural customers and building strong long-term relationships
- Assisting with system upgrades, improvements, and new installations
- Accurately recording job information and completing basic reporting
- Occasionally supporting work from our Napier / Hastings branch when required
No two days are the same, this role offers real variety and the chance to develop into broader technical and customer-facing responsibilities over time.
What we’re looking for:
- Qualified Electrician (or close to qualification)
- A practical, hands-on problem solver who enjoys working outside
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
- Comfortable working independently in the field, while also being a team player
- Interest in rural services, pumps, water systems, and irrigation (experience is an advantage, but not essential)
- Well organised, safety conscious, and reliable
- Full NZ driver’s licence (essential)
