Erecting and rigging systems for steel and roofing installation
- Operate cranes, telehandlers, and EWPs safely and efficiently
- Read and interpret structural drawings and construction plans
Type: Full-time / Permanent
Pay Range: $30 to 40 per hour
Days: Monday to Friday (with occasional Saturday work)
Hours: Guaranteed at least 30 hours per week

They are currently seeking skilled Construction Riggers to join our experienced team based in Timaru.
Key Responsibilities:
- Erecting and rigging systems for steel and roofing installation.
- Lifting and positioning heavy materials or equipment using hoists and cranes.
- Installing, repairing, or replacing roofing systems.
- Following all safety protocols, interpreting plans and specifications, and working effectively at heights.
- Installing structural steel, including steel portals, cold rolled purlins/girts, speed brace, and RB bracing.
- Operating machinery such as telehandlers, forklifts, cranes, and elevated work platforms (EWP).
- Reading and interpreting structural plans and ensuring accurate assembly and installation.
- Carrying, cutting, and installing long run roofing and flashings.
- Working closely with project managers, fabricators, and the design team to streamline and improve building designs.
- Travelling to out-of-region sites for project work (typically 2-3 months stay-away).
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- At least three years of relevant experience in rigging or roofing within the construction industry
- Proven ability to read and understand construction and structural plans
- Experience operating cranes, telehandlers, forklifts, and scissor lifts
- Physically fit and comfortable lifting up to 25kg regularly
- Experience in concrete, formwork and carpentry (preferred)
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Must have a clean police report with no charges pending
