Type: Full-time / Permanent
Pay Range: $30 to $40 per hour
Days: Monday to Friday (with occasional Saturday work)

Hours: Guaranteed at least 30 hours per week

We are seeking Formwork Carpenters to join their growing team to work on exciting projects across Canterbury and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

As a Formwork Carpenter, your main responsibilities will include constructing formwork and reinforcement for concrete structures, working from detailed drawings, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Interpret and analyse construction drawings and specifications for formwork and reinforcement.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble timber or metal formwork to required specifications.
  • Erect and dismantle formwork and shuttering for concrete pours in compliance with safety standards.
  • Install and tie reinforcing steel (rebar) for slabs, beams, columns, and walls.
  • Work at heights while following all safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with other trades to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to high safety and cleanliness standards.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least three years of relevant experience in reinforced concrete structure fixing or carpentry in commercial or civil construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
  • Experience with carpentry and steel fixing tools.
  • Strong understanding of concrete formwork systems and reinforcement methods.
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 25kg regularly.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
  • Must have a clean police report with no charges pending.
