[ref. y88226501] Maintenance Manager - Rotorua Sawmill

Claymark Group limited is New Zealand’s largest manufacturer and exporter of premium pine products made from sustainably managed radiata pine plantations in New Zealand’s central North Island. The role reports to the Site Manager at our View Road Site.

Key function and duties:

• Responsible for keeping production up-time to 97% (minimum)
• Co-ordinate and manage all maintenance inspections and routines completed on all plant and equipment within the sawmill
• Implement and monitor a preventative maintenance program
• Ensure critical spares are always available to ensure other spares are either kept on site or are readily available.
• Assist with management of the R&M expenses work to ensure they remain within budget constraints
• To ensure the smooth running of the overall site including maintenance on water pumps, storm drains and sewage drains
• Assist with scheduling and managing maintenance projects, including shuts and installation of new equipment
• To ensure that all plant and equipment is operated in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with the company’s health and safety policies and procedures at all times
• Supervise Maintenance Engineers to ensure the maintenance targets are achieved while complying with all health and safety policies and procedures of the Company
• Assist the Maintenance Engineers as required, including providing on-going training and instruction, to ensure that maintenance requirements are completed
• Provide information or reports on Maintenance, Health & Safety, environmental, training and Human Resources matters to the Site Manager as and when requested

Person Specifications:

• A Maintenance or engineering qualification
• A sound understanding of specialist plant and equipment of a sawmill
• Good communication skills
• The ability to lead, encourage and motivate staff
• Working knowledge of contractor engagement, project management and cost control.
• A commitment to maintaining quality and health and safety standards within the company
