We are excited to be partnering with Careerforce, seeking an experienced Manager People & Capability to lead their HR function and drive organisational capability, culture, and performance.
About the role
This is a key leadership role in a purpose-driven organisation that makes a real difference to the health and wellbeing workforce across Aotearoa.
Reporting to the General Manager Corporate Services, you’ll lead a team of four and work at both a strategic and hands-on level. You’ll play a central role in supporting leaders, strengthening capability, and ensuring the organisation has the people practices and culture it needs to navigate change and deliver on its purpose.
This is a broad and varied role, with responsibility across:
- Strategic HR leadership and workforce planning
- Employment relations and risk management
- Recruitment and resourcing
- Remuneration and job evaluation
- Organisational development and leadership capability
- Payroll oversight and HR systems
- Health, safety and wellbeing
- Culture, engagement and performance frameworks
In addition to core HR responsibilities, the Manager partners with the Pou Ārahi function, ensuring the integration of te ao Māori perspectives and practices across people-related strategies and organisational culture.
About you
You’re a credible and experienced HR leader who is comfortable operating across strategy and delivery. You bring sound judgement, a steady approach, and the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation.
Key skills and experience include:
- Proven experience leading an HR / People & Capability team
- Strong employment relations expertise and knowledge of NZ employment legislation
- The ability to influence, coach and support leaders through complex situations
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with strong communication skills
- Experience across core HR disciplines including workforce planning, performance, and remuneration
- An understanding of, or genuine openness to, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive practice
- A leadership role with real organisational influence and impact
