As a **Cook at Massey University**, you’ll prepare, cook, and serve high-quality meals that meet Compass Group standards and contractual requirements. You’ll ensure all food production is carried out safely and hygienically, while contributing to menu planning and maintaining a clean, efficient kitchen environment.This is a **Permanent Part Time Position during school terms.**
**Ko o kawenga | Your Responsibilities:**- Prepare, cook, portion, and present food to consistently high standards for daily service and events.
- Receive, store, rotate, and manage kitchen supplies while supporting effective stock control and minimising waste.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organised kitchen areas, including equipment cleaning and waste handling.
- Support menu development for dietary and cultural requirements and assist with ordering and stock control.
- Work collaboratively with team members, coach others when needed, and follow company policies and procedures.
- Previous experience cooking in a similar environment with strong food preparation skills.
- Able to work under pressure while maintaining a positive, professional attitude.
- A reliable team player who can also work independently when required.
- Physically fit, hardworking, and committed to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
- Flexible approach with good communication skills and willingness to learn.
